Jewelry Care Guide
Your role in maintaining the beauty of your jewelry is essential. We craft each piece with care and hope that you’ll do the same. To preserve its shine, we recommend removing your jewelry while sleeping, showering, and during physical activities. Store it in a dry place, and keep it away from humidity, chemicals like hairspray, and perfume. If exposed to these elements, gently clean your jewelry with a soft cloth.
Our goal is for you to enjoy and cherish your jewelry for years to come. A Malorna purchase is a timeless investment, and to ensure you get the most from your piece, we’d like to share some important care tips.

Gemstones
Gemstones should be cleaned with lukewarm, pH-neutral soapy water and a soft brush, followed by drying with a soft cloth. Some gemstones are quite delicate and may not be suitable for ultrasonic cleaning or harsh soaps. Professional cleaning is recommended for these stones.
Pearls
Clean pearls with a soft, damp cloth. To maintain their lustre, avoid contact with cosmetics, hairspray, or perfume. Ultrasonic cleaning should be avoided. While pearls are resilient to shocks, they can still be scratched by sharp objects or other stones. Regular wear enhances their natural beauty, as your skin naturally polishes them.

General Jewelry Care
With proper care, your jewelry will remain beautiful and last a lifetime. Here are some tips to keep it in top condition:
- Be mindful of your activities when wearing jewelry. Avoid wearing it at the beach, in the pool, or during sports to prevent damage.
- Remove your jewelry before going to bed, showering, or washing your hands.
- Protect your jewelry from contact with cosmetics, hairspray, or perfume. Always put your jewelry on as the final touch after applying makeup and styling hair.
- Handle with care to avoid knocks or scratches. Even diamonds can chip if hit at the wrong angle.
- Inspect your jewelry for loose settings or clasps before wearing it.
- Have your diamonds professionally checked once a year, especially for rings.
- Store jewelry separately to avoid scratches, ideally in the Malorna box provided or a lined pouch.
Sterling Silver
Sterling silver naturally tarnishes over time. The rate of tarnish depends on wear, storage conditions, and individual skin pH levels. Occasional polishing with a soft cloth will keep it looking fresh. Regular wear reduces the need for frequent care, so we encourage you to enjoy your silver pieces often.
Some silver pieces feature an oxidized finish, which enhances decorative details. Over-cleaning can remove this finish, so polish with care. Avoid using silver dip polish, as it may cause long-term damage by accelerating tarnishing and corroding the surface.
